This is one situation that unless you have prior experience installing windshields, I Would outsource this task. Several years ago, I had a cracked windshield replaced on my 1982 Quantum for $150, as near as I can recall, & he came to my place to install it. Took him about half an hour to do it. Call around to find the lowest cost as this is one procedure where the price of a windshield including installation can very greatly, at least where I live. If your windshield is used, I would have the installer put in a new one & put the one you have up on the shelf. For a few $$$ more, you could have a tinted windshield installed. Rare windshields apparently are easy for glass installers to find. About 10 years ago I had a new tinted windshield installed on a 1977 Peugeot 604, a rare car at that time. New Rabbit windshields should be very common.
