If you log into the Yahoo Groups site, you can see what groups you are a
member of. For a while I had a problem where I was repeatedly added to
randomly-named groups by presumable spammers. If you go to your email
preferences in Yahoo Groups, you can (de)select whether you allow group
owners to add you to their groups.
I too have my doubts about Yahoo security. A few months ago I received an
email from Yahoo (and it really came from Yahoo servers), asking me to
upgrade to the "new" Yahoo Mail. Problem was: the email was sent to my
email but the "To" line had HER Yahoo login name AND PASSWORD. Still
haven't figured out how that one happened, but needless to say we changed
her password!
