I am been using the Amsoil European Formula for 505.01 spec from day one in my TDI PD and after 140K still fine.

I have been using the Euro oil from Amsoil for some time. No bad issues with it and no cam issues yet with about 60K and counting using it. But for the CBEA (common rail engines) you can't use it as the ash content or something like that is too high for the exhaust. Who would have thought we would have to worry about what kind of oil to use just to meat the exhaust standards.

If interested, go to www.amsoil.com. They also have a "European" Motor Oil, formulated to meet VW TDI specs. I haven't checked either of these oils out as what I have been using has been quite satisfactory & I don't have a TDI.
