[Vwdiesel] pulley alignment

I ran in to this once. The same water pump is used on the A2 gassers, and
requires a different pulley than the diesels.

Don't ask me the numbers.

I converted a gas Carrat to diesel, and had to re-align the PS pump, and
alternator pulley, I lucked out on the WP, as I had a D-WP pulley in the
junk box.

The reason is:

The timing belt on the gasser is about 3/8" narrower than on the diesel, and
the crankshaft pulleys are closer to the engine.

I once had a box full of pulleys off VWs, no 2 were the same. (all gone now).

I would bet lunch that your WP pulley is for a gasser.

Don't think the WP shafts were ever different, EXCEPT for the hub size.

There were 2 hub sizes, resulting in different bores in the pulleys, so
compute that to show there were at least 4 different WP pulleys out there!
only ETKA numbers would resolve the issue.
