[Vwdiesel] won't stay running

Sounds to me like you have a fuel restriction. Or maybe air - did you
check for clogged intake? But those kinds of things can be almost
completely blocked off and let it start and run great, but then pull
vacuum and quit. Then with the engine off the pressures can equalize
slowly past the restriction and it will be fine to start again pretty
soon.

At least that's what it sounds like to me.
