This is exactly what I was thinking as well, more than likely starving for 
fuel. try pulling the line off the filter and running it straight off a feul 
supply close by (I usually put a small cup of fuel right by there and put 
the hose in). Then, fire it up and see if it runs correctly, If it does, 
it's definately a fuel supply issue. Then, also, as Erik mentioned, check 
for air. Are you sure all the connections where the FP was bypassed are 
tight? Just a quick lookover will probably find the solution.
