[Vwdiesel] Think I can tow my boat with my golf? PS

Absolutely agree with Doyt. I would be VERY concerned about being able
to stop all of that momentum safely with just a little car. Having the
power in the engine to make it go is a minor issue compared to having
the friction and controlled mass to make it stop. Very good trailer
brakes would help, but you also have to be able to swerve and
maneuver, and for that the car needs to be big enough to have control
over the trailer.
If it were me I might move it a short distance that way, but not very
far. Like maybe moving it around on my dad's farm if it was in the
way, but probably not down the road more than a mile or so, and only
then if it was a quiet time of the day. That's out in the country, so
traffic is different there. Faster, but you can see it coming from
further away, and sometimes not very many cars in an hour. At my place
in the city I wouldn't even consider it with a trailer that big.
Just don't do it lightly or without considering the risks.
