[Vwdiesel] glow relay question

i purchased a 90 passat wagon diesel conversion that i believe is using the standard fuse block for the glow relay placement though i am not sure which relay it is.i am not getting any glow cycle. i jump from the battery to glow rail for starting and think i should correct this before winter blows. the correct wiring and 50 amp fuse is on the  fire wall. also, does anyone know the interchangeability of the doors, i have a little rust on a rear driver door and wondered if the 4 door sedan doors would fit.
