I had mine revealed by a local diesel shop. He did every seal that he could reach with the pump on the car. He charged me around $250, and I haven't had any problems since.

I could track down all the seals and replace everything as best as I could figure out, or I could let the local independent VW shop see to it for $400. They re-seal them frequently, can get it done and the fueling adjusted in a day, and can guarantee the work. I've never done it before, and need the car turned around quicker than I could do it myself, most likely.
