1. the driver's side door can be locked with a key from the outside, but
can't be unlocked from the outside with a key?
(the door handle mechanism is 1.5 years old)

is the issue with the door lock or the door handle?

2. I can turn on my truck lights, and the tail lights will come on.
If I put in the clutch, the tail lights will go out?

Sounds like something is on wrong, bent or dirty. It'll be in the handle
so
stick something pointy in the top or bottom, rearward corner of the chrome
trim piece, in the handle and gently pry it out, rear first, then the
narrower,
front. Remove the screw under the narrow end and the screw that's
acessable
from the jamb of the door. I forget if the handle will come right out
with a little
wiggling, rear first, or if you'll have to pop a rod out of the lock rod
plastic retainer.

Once in your hand, put the key in and observe it until you figure out
what it's
doing. If all is well there, then the latch probably needs removed,
cleaned and
lubed. Not a bad idea anyway. The only tricky part there is the latch
release
rod, at the bottom of the latch. You have to hold the lever out, while
you lift the
hook of the rod off. Installation is a little more frustrating. Needle
nose Vise
Grips help.

Look up at your pedal assy and see if someone has possibly put a cruise
control on at some time, and has a switch on the clutch pedal, that's
wired
in series through your brake switch. That's the first thing I can think
of for
why the brake lights would go out when depressing the clutch.
