No gunk-just connection. The door panel isn't fully attached either. Normally where the handle to pull doors closed is at is attched to the metal part of teh door-this one is broke loose. Not to worried. Few more months and the rabbits will come out of there hole once the 2500 tons of salt the city has and 3500 tons of salt the county has (not including individuals, businesses and other towns) gets washed away in the streams, rivers and crop lands at $67/ton.

Might try pulling the switches out and spraying some electrical contact cleaner inside them.? Could be some gunk in there, and you are seeing the extra pressure overcome that gunk a bit.
 
Doing that has cured a surprising amount of problems for me.
