[Vwdiesel] [off topic] jumper/charger connectors

Well, sort of off topic. I have two diesel generators, and a diesel tractor.
The generators get less frequently used these days, after transmission
line damage from several ice storms has been repaired. This means that
the tiring batteries in the generators tend to lose their charge after
a month or two. Getting into the enclosure is a bit of a pain, to hook
up a charger, so what I would like to do is to bring the battery to
a terminal, a connector or some kind of a connection point, so that I can
easily attach a charger, jumper cables, a float charger, etc. In a way,
something as simple as a terminal strip with two 1/4-20 bolts on it would
do, and I would put an insulating boot on one of the 1/4-20 bolts when
not in use.

The tractor tends to not be as much of a problem, but again, the battery is
tucked away. The alternator is only 30 amps, so it is not the best platform
to jump stubborn diesel cars from, but it would be nice to quickly attach
to it for 12V power.

I now have 80 ft or so of #6 wire from installing 15 m**2 of PV panels,
and setting up my 12V stuff with suitable jump and charge capability
has floated up my list.

So fellow VWdiesel friends, what kind of ideas do you have?
