If you are not going to regularly run the generator or tractor regularly use a battery tender or similar device that maintains the battery at its optimal float level . You will also get two to three times battery life as well. You can get them for under $10 at Harbor Freight. As to male & female connectors, you could go to a hardware store or electrical supply house & get plugs that don't resemble normal 110 V A/C plugs but can only be plugged in one way, to maintain proper polarity. Then hard wire one end to the tractor/generator & the other side to the float charger. I think I have seen some solar voltaic panels set up to maintain a float level & not overcharge the battery which will shorten its life.
