[Vwdiesel] new to me TDI

Spent the afternoon playing with the new toy.  I pulled the radio out, carefully removed the face, and cleaned all the dials with electrical connector cleaner.  I noticed that there was what looked like some soda on the bottom edge of the radio face.  So I don't know if it was soda or just corrosion, but cleaning the dials seems to have helped immensely!  It sounds much better now.

I also ran the antenna wire for my XM radio.  I couldn't decide on a good spot to mount it on the dash, so I ran it all the way to the inside of the arm rest.  I think I will also eventually run a dedicated, key operated, hidden power outlet so that I can hide the entire thing.  But it is out of the way for the most part.

Also got the Frost Heater installed, and a new thermostat as the needle never quite made it to straight up yesterday.  Finally, I adjusted the air pressure in all the tires.

So, the driving experience should be much improved!

If you want a nice suspension feeling then the Koni FSD is a very very nice upgrade. It handles the small bumps different then the large once. It is almost like a self adjusting/sensing strut. I have Koni reds but I also have stiffer springs for extra ride height. They are good but not as good at the FSD's that my brother has and many others seem to agree. Also tire sidewall height, brand of tire and style of tire all affect how things feel as well. I did the complete suspension refresh that included everything rubber front and back and everything that moved.
