[Vwdiesel] Back on the road

Well after my fight with the injection pump it is finally back running. Well almost, I think I am out of fuel. Started better than ever, installed a used cold start cable which I never had before so that already helped, no leaks on the pump, timed it at 1.00, and  checked the valves. All was well. First run seemed fuel starved and than smoothed out again. Tried second run uphill stalled and coasted home. It fired up when I got back pulled in the garage. I have a steel tank and sounded awfully tinny when I banged on it. So tomorrow I'll pick up 5 gal.

I timed it at 1.00 as it seemed in the middle of what was in the book and here. Parked and revving it up I could see a very slight amount of blue/white smoke. 

I have an unreliable fuel guage as it swings from empty to about a quarter tank so I never really know what I have. I only add 3-5 gallons at a time so I always have good fuel. I was not using it too often and at about 60 miles per gallon.................

So I'll report back when I know I have enough fuel and run a few miles on it.
