[Vwdiesel] general brake question

Yeah I'm on my 4th set of rear pads(and 2nd rotors) if I recall correctly.
 The 3rd set would have lasted longer but one of my rear calipers started
to drag and wore out the inboard pad prematurely.

I'm not a grandma driving but I do do a lot of downshifting/engine braking
and try to conserve my momentum for purposes of economy.  And for those who
argue that downshifting is bad for the clutch, I changed the clutch at
~140k only because I was tired of chip-induced slippage, not because it was
worn out. :)

Of course the biggest reason for the front brake longevity is the balancing
valve VW uses... light braking is almost entirely done by the rears.
