I don't see that being warped would cause grabbing under light braking but
then it might. Can't really say what is going on if the pads are in good
shape front and back. The rotors being warped would pulse like mentioned
before. You can always have the front rotors checked for thickness and
turned to make true again. How is the fluid in the system? Maybe a brake
fluid flush might be in order? Does this model have antilocking brakes?
Nasty fluid can cause issues if so.

that is amazing Tad, for sure they are getting thin. If it is the MK4
Jetta, the one pad will have a wear indicator wire that will make contact
and set some alarm off on the dash. My front brakes had a little less then
1/2 left when I did the brake job at about 100K, but rear pads were almost
completely gone by the time a really looked at them.
No wear indicator wire on the back, where you need it more than the front?
Can't have it all.
You must have changed rears at some point?

i've got almost 180k on my original front brakes... I imagine they are
getting a bit thin by now. :)
