I've tried cheap, and expensive ball joints Travis. The record is under a
year for cheap ones, would have been better leaving the sloppy old ones in
rather than putting in cheap ones. The expensive ones that had a *gasp*
grease nipple in them have done 200k through all conditions, winter, slat,
rain, etc...
I don't think the tires had much to do with it, unless they are really wide
or something.
Cheap is just, well, cheap.

Why aren't you pulling the whole engine out? What is wrong with the engine
you are pulling parts from?
I know I have asked before but I will asked again. I was under my car again
since I have it out for the summer/spring/fall now that the salt is out. I
looked at my shifter lever under the car that transmits one of the shifting
motions (the one with the rubber ball on it). I know several years ago I had
bought new ones for both vehicles and I would love to get the "old" ones
back if someone has them and put knew rubber on them as the slot on it is
soooooo lose it makes getting into reverse large pain.
Also put new ball joints in. They were toast at about 40K miles. I put some
Moog ones in for the warranty this time and bought at a chain brick and
mortar place so I can exchange in the future. That may have been my issue
with the larger 14 inch wheels and the vibration that was happening. The
13's never had an issue and no tire wear pass normal from what I saw. The
drivers steering rack bellow/boot was also torn. I bought most of the parts
through parts place and I so far am not impressed as that is the second
bellow on the same side I have replaced. The other is the OEM from what I
can tell. Again a Moog with a 1 year warranty.
