[Vwdiesel] Nozzles?

I have an '02 Golf TDI w/5-speed.


I've noticed that upon cold-engine startup (and sometimes with warm engine), even in warm weather, a puff of smoke.    


Mixed use driving since January has yielded a pretty consistent 39-40 MPGs except for one rogue 35 MPG tank when I filled up at a different station.  


I have not noticed any smoke while driving, or idling.  


The puff of smoke and slightly lower than expected mileage combined with 232,000 miles makes me wonder about the nozzles.  


What do you all think?  Recommendations?  Possibly a small upgrade?
