[Vwdiesel] is it stock?

Not stock for sure, but it could be one of the VDO diesel tachs, the in-dash versions only 
showed on the A2 and later Jetta TDs as I recall.  I think they can be calibrated to work 
off the alternator (w-terminal).  This would be the case if it is a 0-5000 range on the dial.
