[Vwdiesel] hitch saga

After sending that, I drove past a truck accessories store that I forgot was in town, so I stopped in.  They had the same kit (might have been another brand, but very very similar).  I asked how much it was and he said $70.  I then looked more closely and saw that it had been previously installed in a vehicle; two of the 6 wires were cut pretty short, and two still had the blue splice things.  Also it was missing the 4-wire extension that goes from the box to the trailer.  So I said, "What kind of deal will you give me on that this one?" And he said $57.  I said, "that's not good enough" and he said, "well it is back ordered for a couple weeks..." so I said, "well, I hope someone comes to buy this one then." and left.

I like to buy local, but they do have to be willing to play ball sometimes.

You should be able to return the 5 into 4 converter. I was able to on a different one. I couldn't find any 6 into 4 ones locally so I had to buy mine. I for a couple years didn't have the powered one but the converter I had was at the plug and the ground broke off one trip. Brother has the unpowered one that has the wires before and after the convertor and he doesn't tow as much with it since he has a truck and my father does most of the towing with the cars in the family (they live across the road from eachother-I am 250 miles away). This is the exact kit I have.
