[Vwdiesel] "new" E300 diesel

Well, I have decided to forgo the luxury of driving my newly acquired Mercedes diesel back to Minn. & will drive my trusty 2001 Ford Focus with 146,000 miles on it instead. I have made many such trips with it in the past & the few $ I might save might easily be used up in unpredicted repair costs. There is a local Mercedes mechanic whom I have heard nothing but good things about. However, he cant look at my car for over 3 weeks. He does not advertise, even in the phone book yellow pages, & depends on word of mouth advertising & has lots of work backed up. He also encourages owners to do what ever work they can do on their cars as he has enough hard work to keep him busy. I agree, taking an old car to a dealer is a mistake. I probably wont be back home until 6/15/12.
