[Vwdiesel] engine to generator conversion

Hey y'all,

So there are enough things wrong with my 1985 Jetta that I'm considering
taking the engine out and converting it into being a diesel generator for
my property.
Does anyone know of any resources for such a project?  Have any experience
with it?
The engine and cooling system are strong on this car, but body and interior
are falling apart, along with the old transmission.  I think it could live
a good life as a generator...
