[Vwdiesel] Turbo

Thanks for all the tips folks.
When I installed the 1.6 TD in my 1990 Fox I put in a Isspro
pyrometer. An essential gauge on a diesel in my estimation to keep the
beastie alive. I still wasn't able to get the thing tuned well through a
myriad amount of adjustments. I finally decided to get a boost gauge. When I
started to look for one they seemed too expensive. I finally went to my
local big diesel truck dismantler and found a direct reading boost gauge.
One plastic line from the intake manifold to the gauge. It cost me 30 bucks.
I found I only had 5 lbs of boost. According to the Sages on this list I
should be looking at around 10 lbs. No wonder things weren't quite right.
Today I adjusted the waste gate on my KKK and I now have 10 lbs of boost. A
few more fueling adjustments and I should be up to full power.

Remember when it comes to cost savings waste oil is wonderful.

Hi Loren and all listers

I just put a boost gauge on my Turbo Fox diesel with its
stock 1.6 VW turbo diesel. It pulls about 5 lbs. Is this normal? Is the
stock turbo adjustable? I do have a bigger turbo from an Audi 5000 gas rig.
