Early on in the UK, they did a test of an Audi A8 TDI over 800 miles on one

Was just watching Top Gear.  They had a driving challenge - 700+ miles from 
Seattle to San Francisco on one tank of fuel.  Rutlege (sp?) used a 97 
Passat TDI and easily beat a 2013 BMW  driven by Tanner(I really hate that 
guy) and the other guy drove….a Ford F350 pickup with a full tank of gas and 
a full tank of propane (still used up both tanks of fuel which was actually 
cheating anyway).  The Passat easily won the race and had fuel left over 
even though the other guys put 400 lbs of cat litter in the trunk.  Always 
good to see an old diesel perform well on a national stage.  Hayden
