Some of the things I have done in the past to winkle out dastardly
defects in the brake systems.

! SAFETY FIRST ! (Lurking Lawyers)

NEVER operate the car on-road with one brake line disabled. (plugged)

The front brakes contribute most of the braking effort, and in my
opinion, (even though it is illegal) will permit driving the car
carefully on secondary roads, at low speed, to get it to a shop (yours
or others) for repairs.

I would never try to drive it with only rear brakes operating. It will
swap ends with almost no effort if only rear brakes are applied,
especially in slippery conditions.
You can test this by a parking brake only application.

Bottom line, never drive with one side disabled, basically, only disable
both rear lines, (the ones that usually fail first) and drive with BOTH
front lines operating, at a sensible speed.

Stay off 4 lane roads until repairs are made.

Sandy
