[Vwdiesel] WTB: Silver Golf door, or door innards

Sooo....

I set about trying to fix the left rear door latch,
the one that was sometimes telling the car that the door is open.  I
should have just swapped to the plunger style switch that was
suggested.  But I found people reflowing solder on the vortex and
figured I'd give that a shot.  I had replaced the module on a front door
of a Jetta a couple years ago without any drama, so I figured I could
get it done on the back of the Golf.

Getting that stuff out of
the back doors, however, is a much bigger pain, and a couple of the
plastic parts in the innards of the door got broken along the way.

In
taking things apart, somehow the latch/module got messed up too.  Now,
the lock won't lock.  But that doesn't matter much, because neither the
inside or outside handles open the
door.  (It can be opened by pulling the little wire that the door
handle would normally pull on, but that is stripped so it won't really
attach to the handle.)

On top of that, the solder joints are fine, so I didn't even fix the original problem!

I
either need the innards to a Golf or Jetta door, or better yet, a whole
silver Golf door.  It would be a lot easier to just bolt one on than
remove and replace all the innards.

Bleaugh.
