[Vwdiesel] Coolant leak (fwd)

My favorite (to find and then to repair) is the one from behind the IP,
to the steel pipe that runs laterally across the engine.  It's a $0.87
part, and takes a couple of hours to replace.

Looking back, every TDI I own has this problem, except immediately after
the o-ring is replaced.  Then after about 30k miles they start very slowly 
weeping, then it gets greater.

However, based upon the heater valve description, I don't this this o-ring
is the problem here.

For leak detection, I pressure wash the engine, and then lay lines, with a 
water-soluable marker.
