I had one in my old '78 (gas) Rabbit and really liked it. I had the spare mounted on the
bumper as I recall. I did pick up one to put in my '82 diesel pickup at some point. I
like having the extra capacity to take advantage of filling up at a lower cost station and
also when I drive back and forth between CA and WA, I can make it though OR without having
to stop. They don't have the self-service stations so filling up there is a PITA. I also
will make long drives through remote country, so harder to find open stations late at
night. In the pickup, I am considering setting the rear tank up for WVO, then have a
switch over valve and heater to use it for longer drives, but I may just use it for
diesel. I'll have the spare tire mounted in the bed when I get the tank installed.

I took off from Brookings SD to Sheridan. I didn't fill up in Pierre SD which is the 1/2 way point in SD. I barely made it to Sturgis. I also fill the tank completely full (vented fill) so it actually holds more then 10 gallons.
