[Vwdiesel] Axle noise update, how does one treat the fuel tank

loren, i had an experience where some sludge must have remained, it was a long sitting car that i vacuumed the tank out of and put in diesel only to have the diesel dissolve gasoline sediments often called varnish, this dissolved mix choked out the ip that i have yet to clean up. the current project is a running/active car and so maybe the varnish build up will be at a minimum. since i mention it, any thoughts on how to clean a gunked up IP.
also, regarding finding the correct axles for the 90 to 93 passat, i am going to compare the axles from the 4 cyl gasser/manual trans passat with the axles from the jetta that i am currently using and where on my 90 passat when itook ownership. btw, i did replace/had rebuilt the pass. side axle on this vehicle and it has functioned without proplem. i suppose i could have the outer spindle of the passat axle mounted on the jetta axle when i do an axle rebuild which i will need to do when i complete the anticipated diesel swap on the next passat.
i am considering this swap cuz my existing passat wagon is a non turbo and i was planning to swap in a td motor, then the second wagon came along and so, i will be able to work at a reasonable pace, on a car with a nicer interior and overall better condition.
