[Vwdiesel] It arrived!

On the 1.9td I put in my A1 truck, I used all v belt stuff, all the usual
1.6td with ac fittings and brackets. That was a breeze, all the holes in
the block were there and tapped. I went through the pulleys I have in a
very large box that have accumulated over the years to get the right
offsets, etc. Bit of an issue to build a right side motor mount I didn't
have, but not insurmountable. It looks more like a gasser mount, but fits
the diesel and around the pump bracket. I know the serp belt is nice to
have, but couldn't make it work out right, and the a/c pump I had was v
belt. Engine and trans are from a 94 Jetta IIRC. I was pleasantly
surprised just how much just bolted right up, so many redundant holes in
blocks and cases that are legacy stuff that fits old brackets.
and mileage just sucks in the 1.9td golf. ratios are wrong from factory,
you drive down the road in 5th and just buzz. However, it is warm in
winter, so you don't bitch too loud for half the year, at least not here.

The one I tried to fit was with AC and it will NOT fit around the front
cross support. I tried many different fittings and couldn't get the engine
in place and here in TEXAS A/C is not a good thing to have it is an absolute
MUST. :^) hayden On Jun 22, 2013, at 10:37 PM, "Travis ."

rabbit 4 door car. Possibly if AC was on and/or power steering added it
wouldn't fit but the engine I had I deleted all but the water pump/alt. I
also have a 5 speed from a mid 80's golf I put in there that was the best
gearing I could find. Reverse switch for the backup lights I couldn't make
work but if I say at 55 I can easily get mid 40's. When I was in Wyoming I
could only do about mid 30's but I was also driving on the interstates more
or just in town. 30 mph and 75 mph aren't the best speeds for MPG.
