[Vwdiesel] swap idea, has anyone done this

I thought the passat wagon might be heavy in the vr6 model. i have a 4 lug version passat wagon(90)with a NA 1.6 that is slow yet i attributed that to the NA version setup. I do have a 1.9td non tdi, that i could use though i never felt it was better that the 1.6 in question.   I plan to drive the vr6 a bit to get a feel for the weight in comparison to my 90 passat, review the engine/trans mounts before i decide. search a little more on line, you know.... be as smart as possible when doing a dumb thing.
