[Vwdiesel] headlight switch

Agreed on the relays. A few years ago, mostly to get more light, we went through the headlights pretty thoroughly. We converted them to H4, installed thicker wiring, and installed a relay for each side. All of that makes it relatively pleasant to drive at night.
