I would say your whole pallet is worth $1,000 plus $150 frieght shipping
I got a auto tranny from a junk yard in Pittsburg, PA, pallet shipped to the shop that did the swap for me for $125. You have engine and tranny, so would be heavier, but I bet $175 would get it anywhere in the country.
Get the engine moving out now, or it will never leave and go to a good home. Every day that passes, the need for these older engines falls away.

Well - I made an offer but it was too low and was auto declined. With a baby on the way and my 1.6 NA running good now with a Giles pump and rebuilt injectors I really don't want the added pain to do this since I would imagine an exhaust would also be needed if you wanted to get better effect of the kit and lower EGT's as well as the EGT gauge, etc. I have my 1.9 td aaz to play with in the car. I will leave the very simple and easy to fix 1.6 alone for now.
Although- I did manage to find a rare brush/bumper guard for the VW truck to complement the external visor. Both have VW part numbers stamped into them.
Still waiting on my passanger side air bag sensor to show up in the mail so my 04 golf can be fixed and my glow plug relay for the rabbit car. Then it is on to the 2000 metro and 85 golf to get running.
