[Vwdiesel] Mysterious glowing turn signal indicator light

Could be a bad socket/ground connection as mentioned earlier:

Also, any trailer wiring harness/adapter? If so, disconnect that and see if things change.

Any LED bulbs in the turn signals or tail lights? If so, try swapping those back to
incandescent and see if it changes. ANd make sure you have the proper bulbs in there, if
dual filament, single filament bulbs can cause problems.

On my 4x4, if I run LED turn signal bulbs, I get something like that with the turn signal
indicator slowly brightening then dimming when I have the headlights on at night. I think
it is the LED bulb combined with the trailer wiring adapter hooked up. If I swap back to
regular turn signal bulbs, the problem goes away.

As I said in the previous post, the light glows as soon as the key is turned into the on position and stays on all the time. It isn’t a full on light, just a glow that is not easily seen in daylight but is obvious at night (same kind of glow some people get with the water separator on the later models on the glow plug light). Once you activate the blinker, the glow stops, or if I honk the horn the glow goes out as long as the horn is activated or when I activate the emergency brake the glow goes out for just a few seconds. My first idea would be a bad ground somewhere but anyone have any suggestions of where to start looking? Hayden
