It has been awhile since I have had time to post. Just really busy redoing my RV parking pad and fence so that my recently purchased camper trailer will fit properly. I have also been really busy at school. Well enough of that. I now have 5 tanks of fuel under my belt with the correct speedometer drive gear installed in the Jetta and I am very pleased. The car is averaging just above 39 mpg on my short trip back and forth to work with on occasional longer highway trip. Best has been 41 with about 60% back and forth to work and 40% highway. I am now running B50 homebrew biodiesel and it doesn’t seem to affect the mileage or the running of the engine.
Now for the other part, I noticed the other day that I wasn’t getting any cooling from the AC and discovered that the hose from the condenser (in front of the radiator) to the compressor has broken at the connection to the compressor. The version that I have goes under the compressor and then comes up close to the dryer. I suppose I could use the one that goes across the top like on the pickups but really prefer to find one like I have so if anyone has one lying around not using it, I would appreciate the help. I would of course be willing to pay exorbitant amounts of money like on Ebay!!! ;^) I also need the hvac controls for a car with AC. I replaced the original one with another but it is also failing. Since eventually I will need to have the AC here in texas I really need to get all this stuff fixed. TIA Hayden
