it is quite possible that my rotors need some attention and the feel of warped rotors is fairly unique, more like a pulse if that sounds familiar. tie rod ends have their own feeling of wondering or having to correct on straight roads.
does anyone have an interesting way to loosen the strut top bolt while holding the allen head - top. youtube vids have shown people holding a socket from the circumfernce (outside) with a locking pliers. i assume there is a wrench for this nut removal. i could weld a wrench to a socket for this activity. any thoughts.

Same thing with my Jetta at 160K, light braking gave me quite a wobble. New rotors are not expensive, even non-china ones, and that fixed it 90%.For some reason, even now, when the car is cold, I get NO wobble at all. After driving for a bit, I do get some minor wobble still, but only on light braking. BTDT Really noticeable with light braking at slower speeds. Still need to check and turn the offending rotor/s on my car. Dad's was bad enough we put new ones on the front and fixed 95% of it.> Loren> > > > -----Original Message-----> From: raymond <rgreeley2 at hotmail.com>> To: Vwdiesel at vwfans.com <vwdiesel at vwfans.com>> Sent: Tue, Apr 15, 2014 9:14 am> Subject: [Vwdiesel] front end wobble, strut mount> > > hello all, my mechanic has suggested it is due to a strut mount.we have ruled > ut tire out of balance and ball joint wear.when raised off the ground, grabbing > he wheel at 9 and 3 and working backand forth i do see some out of round > ovement at the strut top> hould i presume that it is the mount or bushing inside the mount> he car is a 90 passat, shocks were/are seemingly ok-no bounce, bottoming or oil > eakbefore i pull the strut out i thought i would ask here, i can drive the car > hough i do get awobble at 57 to 60 and when i lightly brake. i do have a 91 > etta strut assembly which from my search is the same part, only the mount is >
