[Vwdiesel] steering rack boot

The only place I saw that had that item was on either ebay (u.s.) or ebay (u.k.) They were made in Greece and cost about $30-$40. Mine is broken also and keeps popping out and allowing the steering column to had a lot of movement and noise. I will try to verify this after this note is completed.

at the end of my trucks steering column there is a boot covering the u joint. it is split
and I haven't had any luck finding a new one. I tried autohausz.az and rock auto.
does anyone know what the proper name for this part is? I'm thinking of just trying to
cut up an old cv boot and glue it atop the existing w rubber cement and a few plastic
ties. any thots or leads is much appreciated.
