[Vwdiesel] trouble-shooting TDi ABS system (also VAG-COM issues)

hi all

2001 TDi Golf

ABS light is on

braking is a little shuddery

I own a cheap knockoff VAG-COM cable that I can’t get to work, even with earlier ver 409, which is supposed to be compatible

anyone know a bulletproof way to drain/refill brake fluid so that ABS module + all 4 wheels/sensors are happy?

(I like the idea of injecting fluid upstream, from the bleed nipples toward the reservoir - bubbles rise)

is there any mechanism to bleed air from the ABS module? and where TF is it, anyway?))

(it could be a failed sensor, but w/o VCDS, hard to tell)
