Agree with Andrew, put strait edge across pump pulley and cam pulley to get the proper injection pump bracket alignment and test.

Assuming you have your valve cover off, do you have the proper steps to set timing?
Or, are you beyond that now.

I have a good write -up on setting belt to TDC and then doing pump timing.

I have found that the sprockets rarely (never?) line up with a straightedge
and trying to get them to does not help with belt tracking.  In fact, I've
found that in order to track correctly, the injection pump sprocket usually
needs to be angled down relative the cam sprocket...   Regardless, whenever
the bracket is removed and reinstalled, the tracking should be checked and
adjusted as necessary so that the belt rides near the middle of the
injection pump.  To get the belt to track closer to the engine, rotate the
pump bracket parts so that the sprocket end of the pump rotates DOWN and
the end with the injection lines rotates UP.  Tighten all the bolts,
insteall the pump, install the belt with it in the center of the sprockets
and rotate it through a dozen revs or so to see if it is wandering.  If it
does, then adjust as necessary.  If it stays centered then torque
everything down properly.
