Regarding the use of GPS for checking speedometers...as an expert in GPS 
systems, and GPS and related precision time and position systems, 
Hayden is absolutely on the right track using a GPS to check his speedometer.
A cheap GPS is under normal circumstances more accurate at establishing
an accurate velocity vector than alternative methods such as police radar.
