i have been driving a 90 passat with a mk 1 diesel engine/trans. ov er the course of several years i have had to replace the pass side axle (90) twice. it is clear that the jetta axles are approx 1" short. installed then with the inner joint extended to make up the difference.my parts research indicates i should use the later axles from the passat or golf up to 98(4 cyl manual) which are the correct length. to do this i need to install 100 mill flanges. so.. i am wondering, does anyone have a video of the flange removal. the puller looks to be mounted to the flanges with a center bolt to depress the center shaft, which releases the spring loaded pin, is this correct.
i will source the axles locally though i do need the pair of flanges. no hurry. the weather has turned cold in chicago.
