[Vwdiesel] Car totaled

So car is totaled. The claim is under the comp side (not my fault) and I have a $500 deductable. Can anyone help coach me through this a little that has had experience - even emailing me privately? I have a lot of parts I have put onto that car and I am would like to recover as much as I can. 

I have 4 rubber tires that are basically worn out I would like to swap onto one set of alloy rims to get my good snow and summer tires back and keep. 

I have a clutch in there with less then 10K for miles on there. It was a $750 clutch. Given a day I could get that out and put the tranny back in.

I have a custom built two inch reciever in place of the internal rear bumper. I would like to remove and put the plastic cover back on. 

I just put arond $800 in wiring with the rear hatch wires (I kept the old) and the pass airbag sensor up front (kept old). 

EGR delet, dog colar (holds intake pipe into manifold), vented fender liner, fuel pump (modified so it can bypass to suck fuel if it fails, fuel in the tank, metal belly plate/side sheilds, etc. 

Since there is no way the car will ever start again unless all rubber/wires in engine bay are replaced I would like to get a lot of the upgraded parts I listed back off if possible as I may get a different Golf and swap them on. Can I do this. Will they pay for the cost of the parts I have on there and I just don't worry about some of it. Some of the upgrades I don't think can be bought anymore. 

How do I get my maximum price out of this? This was a car that all but the last 2.5 years never saw salt so there isn't ANY salt/rust damage. I know often that the TDI's aren't given a fair value with what they are selling without a fight. 

How do I get the windows down to pull the weathertech window sheilds/covers out? They just pop in there but the window must go down to do so. Is it possible to put a jumper wire into the window fuze slot to get the windows to move? 

Kind of saddens me as that was the most expensive thing my wife and I ever bought. And we haven't had a car payment in 3 years either. The ideal world I would just get parts swapped over to another car and move on with life. But- I could also use added room of a mini van with 3 kids now. I LOVE the MPG of the TDI and the power. 

Any help would be appreciated.
