[Vwdiesel] Was injection pump timing

I think the best thing to do is to slacken all fuel lines and then retighten to relieve any tension on the lines.
Then slacken the three nuts on the pump front and the pivot one under the pump enough to allow you to do a dynamic tune.
Swing either way to find a sweet spot of running.
Tighten pump and then de tension the fuel lines again.
Check restarting difficulty.
Finally do another dial gauge measurement for future reference.

I fired it up today after double checking and seeing 1.0 mm. Running rough
and really smoky?? I may have to double check pressure plate timing mark to
actual tdc?
