you may all remember, I could not get the air out of my front brakes in the bug resto project.
All new parts.
But the car had sat for 6 years, no fluid in brake system, all new.
So, figured had to be the Master Cylinder.
I bought all cheap parts, most from CA Imports.
After swapping just about every part, hoses, hard lines, 3 Master Cylinders, I figured it had to be the brake cylinder, so I took both front ones off, inspected, clean, looked for rips in rubber plugs, anything, they looked fine, I found nothing I could see.
So, still, tons of air. Plugging the port at the MC would allow the system to pump up and most all air would be gone, so the only thing left to swap was the front brake cylinders.
Last resort. I bought new Italian made front brake cylinders for $12.50 each.
No more issues with air, it was the fronts all the time.
I sill have a small air leak in the RR wheel, for sure, a new Brake Cylinder would fix it, but for now, I will leave it.
Moral of the story, DON'T CHEAP OUT ON BRAKE PARTS unless you have 20 hours of free time to chase air in the lines.
thanks again all.
