I think a magic wand would be the most appropriate item needed. :-)
You're looking for what everybody wants, more boost over the whole rpm range. Problem is: A "smaller" turbo, that gives good low end/quick boost, tops out and restricts flow at higher rpm. Likewise, a large one, great for top end and even no-waste-gate-needed applications, have nearly no boost until mid rpm. Thus comes in the multi turbo setups or VNT turbochargers.
Depending on the turbo, you start adding heat from the compressing (or mostly the friction of attempting to compress) of the intake air. The stock KKK/Garrett turbos start producing enough heat that an intercooler is worth it, somewhere around 6-7 psi. I believe it's over 300F @ a bit under 60F ambient. Every degree you take off the intake side, seems to come off, 1:1 from the exhaust side. Not sure just what the boost vs non-boost drop is. The point is to cool it down so that you can then add more fuel, to bring it back up, gain power, and still run within save operating limits.

Subject: [Vwdiesel] Up my boost?
I was wondering whats needed to continuously run higher boost, not just on
eavy throttle? I have a high mount k03 for clearance, need to make it a
ybrid turbo?
