Audi 4000CS Quattro Thermostat

Could someone tell me where this beast is located and how hard
it is to replace? My temp gauge barely moves when on the highway
here in New England and I suspect that the thermostat is dying.

I believe what you are asking for is the thermostat. Which is located
on the engine block close to the radiator. I replaced mine last summer.
If you follow the hose that goes from the radiator to the engine block
you will see an aluminum houseing about the size of a golf ball. This `
houses your thermostat. There are two bolts that hold the housing to the
block. It is not to difficult to do. However, make sure you use a factory
replacement part. I`ve heard of otheres going bad in a few months. Also
drain the fluid when you start. If you don't you will end up draining it
any way.

		Hope this helps......
