Converting fwd to quattro

I've got an '84 Coupe GT with about 116k on it and it's running great.
Now I've been toying for awhile with the idea of adding audi's quattro
system to the car. Here's some questions...

1) Has anybody ever attempted this by themselves (or brought it to a
   mechanic & had it done professionally)? 
2) are the parts for this job available/which pieces are necessary?
3) are the fittings for the job (holes/brackets, etc) already on my
   non-quattro car ready for installation?
4) is this a reasonable job to do?
5) is it worth it?
