I just bought a '89 100Q (you don't say whether yours is a Q) from
Park Audi in Lawrence. Mine was also a lease turn-in. That is the
the way to go. People who buy a mid-range Audi on the lease and turn
it in for a new one generally pampered it and didn't forget service.
I paid just over $14K for:
        45,600 miles, 39 months old
        Power/Leather seats
Cold weather pkg (seat heaters busted)
        BBS alloy rims
Upgraded (wide) rear light bar from 200Q.

They also had a '90 100Q, 32 months old, 42K miles, no leather or
power seats, but they wanted about $2K more for it (still had some
factory warranty left). I'm told the '89 and the '90 are
almost identical.

As for what to look for, about 50K is when things like brakes and
shocks and tires are going. Check these carefully so you know what
condition they are in. Mine mostly needed replacement, which is likely
why the car was $2K less. I've had few other problems with the
car, except for the radio breaking which was a blessing. The new
Kenwood disc player sounds much better ;-)
