cheap tires?

I've had P6s on my Quantum Syncro for several years now.  I love them from 
the standpoint of handling and traction (of course, driving all 4 wheels 
helps).  However, I guess they don't last as long as they could.  I seem to 
get about 45,000 miles out of them before they either are showing the wear 
bars or have succumbed to dry-rot and weather.  I probably should have 
checked into other tires, instead of always replacing these with more P6s.
